“Couture is a fact not an industry. It is a savoir faire, a craft, and is a complement to ready-to-wear.”

Riccardo Tisci’s haute couture collection for Givenchy reminds us how pure, romantic beauty can still be so effective and powerful. Lesage embroidery covered with beads and pearls, layers of transparencies, organzas and tulles mixed with clean but strong silhouettes and well-thought cut out details. This collection is just.. beautiful.

And these images from the Valentino and Dior Haute Couture shows:

Here is an unusual creative approach for Chanel. Less aspirational and more fun! Meet the jet-propelled robot, the beaming sun god and the impish spider that Peter Philips (Chanel’s global creative director of makeup) has created. Built from a trove of compacts, glosses, brushes and more, Philips’s characters embark on a journey that begins with a lipstick-powered automaton blasting through the clouds and ends on more familiar ground, with a model. Philips studied graphic design before attending Antwerp’s Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts so it’s interesting to see how he combined both of his talents.

‘Randomness, a conversation between images’ .

This sentence defines Katia’s blog. We love how she puts random images together that somehow are connected to each other. They complete each other .

FAUX REAL! We’re announcing the 2011 hair colour trends: Pink, Purple, Green, Blue, Coral OR all of them at the same time! If you were being indecisive before whether you wanted to be a blonde or a brunette, well you can be both; and ginger as well. These crazy hairs are all a part of the FAUX REAL trend that’s been going on for a while now. You should go have a look at the Bleach hair salon, if you’re interested in being a part of this mania. The hair stylists there are gods of this technique and they have a new salon in Top Shop Oxford Circus. Here are some examples of their work. We edited the photographs, but you’ll get the idea.

We found this video on Bleach‘s website. Visually inspiring and fun to watch, but at the same time quite sad. Poor little chicks!

If you’re not brave enough to go crazy pink or neon green, check out these more pastel, dreamy colours. We love them! They’re more down to earth, well you still have at least two-three colours in your hair but.. yeah.. like we said down to earth!
